Martin teaches the Speech Level Singing Technique used by artists such as Michael Jackson, Liza Minelli, Kelly Clarkson, David Archuleta, Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Olivia Newton-John, Bernadette Peters, Ann-Margaret, Cher, Natalie Cole, Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, Bette Midler, Prince, Lionel Richie, Chita Rivera, Diana Ross, Dusty Springfield, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder and many hundreds more legendary, award winning singers!
Singing lessons with Martin focus around building healthy vocal technique, allowing for a life-time of healthy vocal production, providing the singer with the freedom to get up and down their voice with ease and sing in any style, (musical theatre, pop, gospel, opera etc) that they choose or are required to sing in.
Technically, emphasis is placed on having a relaxed and stable larynx, which leaves the vocal cords free to function in a natural fashion and working through the bridges (flips) in the voice. There is real benefit to learning how to navigate your voice from a young age, as the older you get – the harder it gets! We want to remain relaxed through the bridges!
With approaching 20 years of experience, Martin uses a “Student Centered” teaching approach, so he will adapt his approach to any level of singer.
